Welcome to the World of Transmedia: Lizzie Bennet Diaries, and Emma Approved

Hey guys! Well, actually, this post will probably just appeals to the girls out there…

Monday morning blues? No more!

Love Jane Austen? Good, you’re normal. If you don’t, I suggest you go try reading her again, until you come back with the right answer…

Correction: Those who don’t know it YET…

Anyway, basically these awesome dudes [who have turned Pemberley Digital (the Darcy’s company in LBD) into their own real company] are going about creating modern-day personas for many of Austen’s best-loved characters. Their first project was called The Lizzie Bennet Diaries. Lizzie starts a video blog about her life, and you not only follow these episodes, but the characters interact on twitter, tumblr, youtube, etc. It’s amazing!!! But that one’s finished, sadly.

Welcome to Sanditon was a filler series, built around Gigi (Georgiana) Darcy, loosely based on Austen’s unfinished book.

The newest series is based on Emma! It’s called Emma Approved, and so far it’s looking good. From “About Emma”:

I help people.  I fix their problems, even ones they didn’t realize they had.  I take lives with troubles and show them how to make it all better, and I take lives that seem alright on the surface and I teach them how to make it shine.  I will help you find yourself, the job of your dreams, the love of your life, a way into the world you’ve always longed to belong to and look great doing it.

If you’re looking for something quick to watch at this moment, start with this, cuz there’s only two episodes so far, [go to the first episode here!] while the Lizzie Bennet Diaries has over 100 episodes. Episode 3 should be up by the time us Aussies wake up tomorrow! [They come out every Monday and Thursday 9am somewhere in America].

You’re welcome. Enjoy!
